Yesterday at the LG press conference LG introduced the LG G3. The LG G3 is LG’s newest flagship device, just ahead of the G2. LG introduced a plethora of new features including a “Quad HD Display”, Laser Auto Focus, Smart Notice, and Smart Keyboard. LG also redesigned their “Knock Code” unlock system in the G3.

Display

The device has a curved edge and rounded back to create a more ergonomic feel. LG is sticking with its large screen by upgrading the G3 to a 5.5″ display, bigger compared to the G2’s 5.2″ display. The G3’s Quad-HD screen boasts a 2,560×1,440 display and 538 ppi.

Camera

The G3 includes a 13 megapixel camera with the exclusive “Laser Autofocus feature. The laser autofocus is designed to create a speedier and more reliable autofocus using a laser to determine the distance to the object from the phone. The phone has a 2.1 megapixel front facing camera that includes a feature known as selfie mode. You simply activate selfie mode by showing your first to the camera to activate a countdown. Useful? I dont know, but in todays selfie ridden universe it could be an advantage over Apple.

Power

Power wise the G3 has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with a clock speed of up to 2.5GHz. Which is more than enough power for todays leading apps. LG is using Android 4.4.2, but with some minor tweaks for easier keyboard usage, cleaner home screens and a more organized and helpful phone. LG is attacking Apple and Google with their own AI like assistant. LG’s feature known as “Smart notice” can inform you on a conversational basis about things anywhere from weather in your area to the amount of junk slowing down your device.
